A beautiful mushroom with a bright hat from the hygrophoric family. Refers to plate types.
Vaisiakūnis yra kepurėlė ir stiebas. vadovas conical shape, in young mushrooms in the form of a bell, at a later age – flat. All mushrooms have a small tubercle in the middle of the cap.
The surface is smooth, covered with a sticky layer, sometimes some specimens may have grooves. Diameter – up to 12 cm. Hat color – red, crimson, sometimes turning into orange.
koja thick, hollow, may have grooves along its entire length.
plokštės under the hat are wide, have a fleshy structure, are poorly attached to the leg. At first, in young mushrooms, they have an ocher color, then they turn red.
Pulp mushroom is very dense, has a specific pleasant smell.
Grows from early summer to late autumn. It is found everywhere, prefers open places, moist soils.
From other types of hygrocybe (cinnabar-red, intermediate and scarlet) it differs in larger sizes.
Edible, good taste. Connoisseurs consider crimson hygrocybe a delicious mushroom (recommended for frying, as well as for canning).
