Gydytojai patarė motinai atsisakyti cerebriniu paralyžiumi sergančio vaiko, ir jis įstojo į Harvardą

Doctors advised the woman to leave her son in the hospital. But she gave all her strength and all herself to ensure that the boy lived a normal life.

Zhou Hong Yan is an ordinary resident of China. Children are very fond of there. But the children are healthy. Due to overcrowding, there are generally difficult relations with juvenile politics. Zhou really wanted a baby. And finally got pregnant. But…

The birth was difficult. Zhou’s child nearly suffocated from complications. Hypoxia caused cerebral palsy in the baby. The doctors of the provincial maternity hospital suggested that the mother leave the child: they say, he will still be underdeveloped. Moreover, he is physically disabled.

The boy’s father, Zhou’s legal husband, heeded the doctors’ opinion. “This is not a child, but a burden,” he told his wife. But the young mother decided that she would not abandon her child. And she will divorce her husband. And so she did.

Zhou’s son was named Ding Dong. The small family needed a lot of money: after all, the boy needed special care. So Zhou had to find a part-time job. And one more. As a result, she worked at three jobs, and in her free time – wherever she only took it! – Zhou was busy with the child.

I was engaged – it was not only aunt and lisp, as all mothers do. She dragged him to rehabilitation classes – any day, in any weather. She learned to give Ding a healing massage. I played with him in a variety of educational games and put together puzzles.

It was important for Zhou that his son knew how to overcome his shortcomings from the very beginning. For example, due to coordination problems, Ding could not eat with chopsticks. The family believed that he didn’t need to be able to do this, but Zhou still taught him how to use traditional cutlery.

“Otherwise, you will have to explain to people every time why you cannot do this,” she explained to the child.

“I didn’t want him to be ashamed of these physical problems,” said the brave mother. “Ding had many difficulties, but I insisted that he work hard and overcome them. He had to catch up with his peers in everything. “

Ding is now 29 years old. He received his BS in Science and Engineering from Peking University. He entered the magistracy of the international law school of the university. Two years later, Ding entered Harvard.

“I was able to achieve all this only thanks to the perseverance and endless dedication of my mother,” said Ding.

And Zhou? She is happy that her son has achieved so much. So, she did not go through all the difficulties of a single mother’s life in vain.

Ding Dong is not the only child who has achieved much despite a serious illness. A boy named Asher Nash lives in America. His mom decided that he was quite worthy to appear in commercials. But he was not allowed to the casting – because of the diagnosis. The baby has Down syndrome. But … Asher’s mother, Megan, was not stopped by any formalities. She created a Facebook page dedicated to her son. And on his behalf, she turned to a company that produces children’s things – with a request to evaluate the model data of the child. This appeal went viral. And now little Asher became the face of the Oshkosh B’gosh brand.

And in England there is a girl named Isabella Neville. She also has cerebral palsy. She had to undergo a series of surgeries and wear the plaster for a long time – just to be able to walk. Isabella had a dream: to become a model. Parents did not oppose their daughter’s wishes. On the contrary, they supported her. Phil and Julie Neville organized a photo session for their daughter, and the pictures were sent to modeling agencies, where they did not know anything about Isabella’s diagnosis. And what do you think? The girl was noticed! Soon, 13-year-old Isabella received her first contract.
