Elisa Tovati: truth interview of a fulfilled future mother

On the occasion of the release of the film “The truth if I lie 3” at the cinema, Elisa Tovati, 8 months pregnant, and already mother of a little Joseph, confides in Infobebes.com …

Have you dreamed of becoming an actress since you were little? Where does this taste for comedy come from?

I don’t know, it’s a passion. I always wanted to do skits, listen to poems. It’s natural for me. Maybe my parents had something to do with it. In any case, I did not have the click one day, seeing a film at the age of 12/13 years. With my son, I can see that each child has a different personality, I think acting is part of mine.

You are 8 months pregnant. Isn’t it too hard to promote “The Truth If I Lie 3” at this point in pregnancy?

It’s not difficult. Pregnancy is a physiological state, not a pathological one. Every day when I wake up I tell myself that I am lucky. Certainly, I am a little tired in the evening, when I come home, but for me, it is not work, I love to do that, I have fun. And then, I also want to show women that we can remain dignified and beautiful, until the end of the pregnancy, it is important. So if I can set an example …

It has been ten years since the “The Truth If I Lie” team met. How did the reunion go?

Very well ! It’s a big family, in which there are several love stories. With my parents, including my father Enrico Macias and my husband José Garcia, we already form a real team. We had a lot of fun meeting each other. Since we know each other, it was also easier to play, we saved time and we gave ourselves to our hearts content.

Does your character, Chochana Boutboul, look like you?

Aside from the boundless love she has for her parents and her husband, which is also my case, not at all. I built it from scratch. It’s a woman who was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She thinks her husband is a gentleman and believes everything he says to her.

A highlight of the shoot?

(Reflection then laughs) What I love are the moments when you can really act, let go. In one scene, Serge and I are trying to have a child. We were in a bed, and we had a lot of fun playing that scene.

You are both a singer and an actress. How do you manage these two careers simultaneously, especially in France, where we like to put people in boxes?

I think I am very lucky. People are used to seeing me, and then I also started before the fashion for actresses / singers. I’m on my third album. Of course, there are choices to be made, but naturally, a woman must be in several fields at the same time (work, life of mother…), one knows how to divide. I just have to do it a little more.

Your duet “We must”, with Tom Dice, hit the mark this summer, and your third album is critically acclaimed. Did you expect such success?

You never expect success, even if you often dream of it. It’s a real surprise. I’m so happy because it’s a lovely song that I really like.
