Rough-legged Entoloma (Entoloma hirtipes) is a mushroom of the Entalom family, belonging to the genus Entolom.

The fruiting body of the rough-legged entoloma is hat-legged, has a lamellar hymenophore under the cap, consisting of sparsely spaced plates, often adhering to the stem. In young fruiting bodies, the plates are whitish in color, as the fungus ages, they acquire a pinkish-brown hue.

The cap of the entoloma sciatica is 3-7 cm in diameter, and at a young age it has a pointed shape. Gradually, it is transformed into a bell-shaped, convex or hemispherical. Its surface is smooth and hydrophobic. In color, the cap of the described species is often darkish brown, in some specimens it may cast red. When the fruiting body dries, it acquires a lighter color, becoming gray-brown.

The length of the stalk of entolomas of the rough-legged varies within 9-16 cm, and in thickness it reaches 0.3-1 cm. It thickens slightly downwards. At the top, the surface of the leg to the touch is velvety, of a light shade. In the lower part of the leg, in most specimens, it is smooth and has a yellowish-brown color. There is no cap ring on the stem.

The pulp of the mushroom is characterized by the same color as the cap, but in some mushrooms it may be slightly lighter. Its density is high. The aroma is unpleasant, floury, as is the taste.

Spore powder consists of the smallest particles of a pinkish tint, having dimensions of 8-11 * 8-9 microns. The spores are angular in shape and are part of four-spore basidia.

Rough-legged entoloma can be found in the countries of Central and Northern Europe. However, finding this type of mushroom will be difficult, as it is rare. The fruiting of the fungus usually begins in the spring, the rough-legged entoloma grows in forests of various types: in coniferous, mixed and deciduous. Often in damp places, in grass and moss. It occurs both singly and in groups.

Rough-legged entoloma belongs to the category of inedible mushrooms.
